IAWP members and friends:
It is truly an honor to welcome you to the IAWP-SD website. I hope you find your visit here to be an educational experience.
The International Association of Workforce Professionals (IAWP) is a professional association of members who work in public and private workforce development programs. The SD Chapter is a non-profit educational association dedicated to workforce professionals with a tradition and history of contributions to workforce excellence.
Professional growth and development is a priority of the IAWP-SD Chapter. Staff development and training is more important than ever and the SD Chapter is dedicated to providing members with quality educational content to enhance competence and proficiency and increase knowledge. Members receive the tools and resources needed to effectively contribute to the workforce development system through local, state, regional and International educational conferences, workshops and institutes. Check out the ‘Conference’ link for more information on conferences and other upcoming events.
Keeping members fully informed of all legislative activities and prompting action when needed is critical to protecting program funding that supports our jobs. There’s strength in numbers and as our numbers increase, so does the influence we have on those who control our destiny. You may check out the ‘Legislation’ and the ‘Membership Info’ links for more information.
This website, along with our chapter newsletter, The Messenger, keeps members fully informed of local, state and international activities, news and information. So come back and visit often for updates.
I hope you will take the time to review our website and learn more about IAWP. To our members, I encourage you to accept membership in this association as a personal responsibility, and commit yourselves to continuing to grow both personally and professionally. If you’re not a member, I invite you to join this great association and see what a difference it can make in your own career.
